About NPTO

The Nova Classical Academy Parent-Teacher Organization (NPTO) is an organization of volunteers engaging families, teachers, and staff in fostering a school community that actively supports Nova’s mission and enriches the students and the school. Any and all current Nova parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff are considered members of Nova PTO and are welcome to volunteer or attend meetings at any time. There are no dues.

While an informal parent-teacher organization has been active since the school’s inception, Nova PTO officially formed in November of 2008 as a legally incorporated entity subject to Minnesota state statutes and IRS regulations governing nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations.

FAQ

How do I contact Nova PTO?  There are three ways: clicking on "Contact Us" in the left navigation bar, clicking one of the links at the top of the page, or clicking here!

How do I join Nova PTO? If you are a current Nova parent, grandparent, teacher, or staff member, you are a member of Nova PTO. We welcome your involvement!

How do I get involved? Visit the Volunteer Portal and sign-up, or come to a meeting! Email us and tell us how you want to help. We want you to experience how great it is to be involved in your child's education.

How does Nova PTO fundraise? We fundraise in a variety of ways, from Great Gatherings to Amazon Smile, an annual book fair, and direct donations. Check out the Fundraising tab on the side of the page for more information.

Can I attend Nova PTO meetings? Do I need to join Nova PTO first? Nova PTO welcomes all current Nova parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff members to participate in Nova PTO events and attend any (or all!) of our meetings. Come to a meeting and let us know how you would like to help.

When are your meetings? Nova PTO meetings are usually the first Tuesday of the month. Check our website, Nova News, or our Facebook page for updates.

Upper School Parent Advisory Council

Being on the Upper School Parent Advisory (USPA) is a wonderful way to stay involved in with your Upper School student's life at Nova. USPA meets monthly and gives feedback to the director and administration while also serving as a sounding board for new ideas. There are three representatives for each grade. Reach out to Jane Lagerquist to get involved.
